Exploring the Experiences of People Vlogging about Their Mental Health During the COVID-19 Lockdown: A Thematic Analysis

Background: The mental health consequences of the COVID-19 lockdown are great concern. true extent these difficulties is not yet known, as there only a limited number preliminary survey-based studies. Aims: present study aimed to explore how individuals experienced during lockdown, they vlogged about them on YouTube. Methods: YouTube was searched systematically using relevant keywords (“Lockdown”, “Mental health”, “Depression” and “Anxiety”) set 42 vlog videos identified eligible for analysis. Videos were transcribed verbatim analysed thematic Results: Five overarching themes identified: instability extreme states; sense loss; intolerance ambiguity; barriers improvement; helpful practices.
